Hugh Jackman is getting involved in humanitarianism and his first order of business was to attend the United Nations Climate Summit in New York yesterday. He excitedly attended as an ambassador to the World Vision charity, which “aims to help children and families living in poverty.”
Hugh addressed the U.N., discussing his trip to Ethiopia last year and highlighted the affects he saw on the climate change on the poor in this part of the world:
“On this trip it really gelled for me that you can’t separate the issues of climate change and poverty. They are inextricably linked. Having been to Ethiopia and seen these farmers, seen the battle they face from what is a problem that the developed countries have brought on many of these developing countries, there is a justice, there is a gap we need to fill.”
Nicely said.
The awesome Aussie later joined U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki Moon and former British prime minister Tony Blair to talk politics.
He can sing. He can act. Maybe he can save the world!
